Bought this for my girlfriend, seems when you purchase a 0+ camera from Canon, they don’t even include a simple camera case. This was a nice case, and for a few extra dollars, included a number of additional accessories she didn’t have.

Canon EF 135mm f/2.8 with Softfocus Telephoto Lens for Canon SLR Cameras Feature

I am an amateur photographer using this lense on a Canon 40D to take portraits or anything that requires some reach. The lense is light, which I love, since I can carry it with me everyday. The built is solid and more than well enough to hold up with my use- lots of tossing in the bookbag type of handling.
The lense autofocus (AF)is from the older generation of AF by Canon. It makes this cool, sharp, and distinct wirring sound that isn’t too lound that I like. All my other Canon lenses are just plain quiet and I do miss that mechanical buzzing of things that actually moves. The manual focus is disable whenever the autofocus is turned on. For my usage, which is casual everyday multipurpose photo snapping that includes some wildlife, candid, low light, and photojournal photography, the autofocus is more than fast enough. For low light situation, I have used this lense indoor during the evening with decent lighting and it performs fine. So far, I have not encountered any flaring or optical aberrations that catch my attention as an amateur photographer.
As for sharpness, contrast and image quality, I find the lense very good. I can’t tell the differences between this lense and my 70-200 f/4L IS. Of course, I am not a pixel maniac, so I can’t tell the differences if any exist. If you need or want a high performance 135mm lense, then perhaps you should look more into the 135mm f/2L lense that Canon has. That seems to be the most popular choice for people when they talk about 135mm lense. However, if your need is a consumer level 135mm lense, then this lense is the one.
Finally for the highlight of this lense. Its unique, and best feature of soft focus put it in a class of its own. Soft focus allows the photographer to soften an otherwise very sharp image into that glamorous superstar type of shot that looks very good for facial portraits and creative uses. With some side lighting or back lighting, I get to have a lot of fun with glamor photography through the use of soft focus; it is a wonderfully fun lense, and I am so glad to have one. No other Canon lenses on the market can do what this lense does, and I think that other makers such as Nikon don’t even have it in their lineup, with the exception of a very few makers such as Pentax. When the soft focus is turned off, it is a sharp, sharp little lense. Of course, I am aware that through graphic programs like Photoshop, one can try to mimic what this lense can do in post processing, but it isn’t the same. It will also take some work to imitate the effect.
For its versatility of functionality, creativity, and value in prices. I rate this lense top notch!

It’s a great camera and looks really elegant, by the look and feel in your hands you can tell that it’s a better quality camera. I love that it has 5x zoom and 12 mp. It’s not the smallest one, and not really one of the cheap ones, but I bought it to have it for a longer period of time to take great pictures. I like the kind of rounded shape of it; it feels really comfortable holding it in your hand. I didn’t really have time to play with the functions of the camera, so far I was only taking pictures on AUTO mode, and I know pictures can be better if I adjust and customize it a little, once I read the instructions… However, I’m happy with the camera, although the cost is pretty high, as for me, a student. Adding to it, I needed a good camera to take good pictures outside, and also close-ups of the models I build, and I think the camera works really well for me in this case.

The camera itself it wonderful – very easy to use and easy to carry around. My husband and I needed a new camera for our upcoming trip to Las Vegas. Canon ACK-DC20 AC Adapter Kit for PowerShot G7, G9 and Digital Rebel XT/XTi Review

I got this item to power my rebel XT on long cold nights of astrophotography sessions. On my batteries, I could only get about an hour of exposures each, and had to keep checking if they were out. This item comes with a nice long cord to the “battery”, and doesnt use a “wall wart”. Instead it has a black box with a removable normal power cord. This saves room on your six outlet strip.

My only problems with it are the “battery” doesn’t really clip into the camera well, and slips out when you open the battery door. Secondly, the documentation says look in your original camera documentation to see which “battery” you should use. (It comes with two near identical ones) I had to go look it up on canon’s website since I couldn’t find my original documentation. How hard would it be to have a little table in the ac adapters instruction book?

Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-Inch LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens Review

I was looking to upgrade from my Canon S70 to an SLR for quite a while. Originally was looking at the XSI, then the XTI, but when the T1I came out, my search was over. It had all of the features that I was looking for. I am VERY pleased with my purchase!! It is a great camera for someone that is new to SLRs. There is a learning curve if you are moving from a point and shoot, so don’t be discouraged by reviews that say the camera is too complicated…it’s like driving a car with a manual transmission after having only having automatics. I haven’t spent too much time with the automatic modes on this camera for the simple fact that SLRs are designed to give YOU the user more control over the camera. I have spent most of my time using the AV, TV and M modes to learn and fine tune exposure. I traveled both to Europe and South America multiple times, and I hated that my point & shoot couldn’t capture the scene the way I wanted it. Pictures were either under exposed, over exposed, or couldn’t be framed properly because of the focal length of the lens. I can’t wait to use this on my next vacation. The HD Video is good, but I mainly use this for taking pictures. I would have purchased a video camera if I were mainly focused on shooting video. This is a very versatile camera. IF you are disappointed by the quality of your pictures after buying it, I would highly recommend you join a local photography group to learn more about SLR photography and how to configure your camera. I would also recommend the Canon ef-s 55-250mm lens and the ef 50mm 1.8 lens.

Canon PowerShot SD1200IS 10 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Dark Gray) Review

While I have only had my camera a couple of hours, I have logged in many (some may say too many) hours of internet research to find the best small digital camera under $[...] and think I have found it!! I had a Kodak DX7360 and loved it, but it is clunky, and then didn’t survive a night out in the rain on Halloween. Oops! As much as I loved my old Kodak, I have been scared off of purchasing a new Kodak since many many reviews said the pictures were not clear, the shutter time seemed too slow, and that they seemed to just stop working altogether in a matter of months. Seemed like these were similar complaints of Nikon Coolpix, Sony Cybershots, Samsungs and Olympus.

My final options were this Canon SD1200, an Olympus Stylus 7010, Casio Ex-S5 and Casio EXZ33. What really sold me on the Canon SD1200 was the fact that I found awesome reviews from expert websites:

[...] – “strong buy” (the highest rating) (Olypus 7010 was only “good buy.”)
[...] – rated the Best Ultra Compact Digital Camera under 0
[...] – rated an A.

Like most people, I didn’t want to buy any camera without actually testing it out. I tested it out at Best Buy, got a few quick pics of my 4 yr old and was totally sold! The camera took crisp pictures immediately. Crisp and quick were my main objectives since I pretty much only take pictures of my 2 and 4 yr old boys who are always on the go! : )

I don’t know about technical details of zoom, digital/optical etc, but was able to shoot a quick, clear image little video of my dog and was able to zoom while recording. A lot of other point and shoot cameras do not have the zoom while recording feature.

I didn’t actually buy this camera from Amazon.com. I still wanted to submit a review though since I’ve pored over the many reviews on this site for this camera and the others I researched. I ended up buying it in person today for the same price at Best Buy(Black Friday)and purchased the Geek Squad Black Tie 2 yr warranty. Although after all the great things I’ve heard about the Canon SD1200, the Best Buy protection plan will cover pretty much anything short of actually losing the camera…even if it gets left out in the rain next Halloween. : )

I’ll add to my review in the future if my opinion changes, but so far, this seems like the best quality, easy-to-use, quick and crisp picture taking camera for the money.
