If you are looking for a great digital camera at a great price…..look no further. I was amazed at how great the pictures turned out. And the ease of use is head and shoulders above the other brands I have tried. I just sold my Canon because of the complicated menus and lag time. This Kodak has virtually no lag time and pictures I took out the side window of my speeding auto were perfect. Menu set up was very intuitive. No need for a manual in order to make really great pictures. Even at night…..in the dark! It is small enough to carry in my purse and I purchased the camera dock which keeps the batteries always fully charged and ready in an instant. The only complaint I have is with the EasyShare software which comes with the camera. That software is in dire need of an overhaul. And while the camera is very easy to figure out.;…I have yet to figure out that stupid software. I just go to My computer and go through my camera usb hook up and open and move picture where I want them. The older version of the Easyshare software would download and deposit your picture in the Pictures folder on your computer. But no so with this version. But the camera itself is well worth the money and I promise you won’t be dissapointed. I have found Kodak brand cameras to be very reliable. I have another one that is about 8 years old and still makes beautiful pictures. I also purchased a Kodak ESP 7250 all in one printer and the camera works great with it. I would give it 10 stars if that were possible.

I really like this camera. It may not be the best camera out there, but for the price it’s a pretty good deal. It takes better pictures than the previous Olympus 8MP camera I had.

I bought this camera from Crutchfield via Amazon about a month ago. Crutchfield shipped fast even with the free shipping. The camera is small…a bit bigger then an IPhone, and easily slips in your pocket. It feels pretty sturdy and is supposed to be waterproof, although I have not tried it underwater yet. For me waterproof was a selling point because my small electronics tend to get spilled on. The video quality is good for the very small lens. The term HD is a bit deceptive though, because this camera compresses the video and relies on digital zoom. Don’t get me wrong, it is HD in terms of scan lines, but picture quality is not as good as a larger DV camera with a decent lens. The controls and menu are intuitive and very easy to understand. The scroll wheel can be tough to operate at times though, I think due its waterproof nature (It feels like the plastic behind the wheel buttons prevents it from being very sensitive or accurate). The screen is crisp and clear even in brighter light but scratches easily. Battery life is good and seems to achieve full charge in about 2 hours. The camera itself is 0, but by the time you add a 8 or 16GB card you are really close to 0. If you want an extra battery and a bag add another . Even at 0 or so for the package it is a good deal and the best pocket HD camera on the market at the moment. A not-so-surprising prediction: Within 2 years or so your cell phone will be able to do everything the PlaySport can do, but who wants to wait 2 years?

This camera is a great deal for the price. It takes relatively good video, not great. The low battery light came on after 20 minutes of use on the highest setting. I wish there was some sort of cover for the lens. It could easily be scratched which would ruin the camera. Overall I am very happy that I bought this camera. Kodak Zx1 HD Pocket Video Camera (Pink) Review

I deliberated over the ZX1 and the flip Ultra, and after reading many reviews and watching several videos from each, on You Tube, decided on the Kodak. My being into amature photography, with many vintage film cams as well as a digital DSLR,am not a big fan of video’s anyway. That being said there are occasions video’s are handy, so not wanting to spend a lot on one, I begine my research.
Pocket camcorders? Never heard of them before about a month ago. I soon discovered two of the major players in this field seemed to consistently be The Flip Mino and the Kodak. Well without getting to drawn out I decided on the Kodak beacuse ….. SD card memory up to 32gig, and double AA batterys, belive me I know how it is to be someplace like Malin Oregon and have your Lippo batt go dead.
So I went shopping and it was a little hard for me to find the ZX1, the first four stores I went to only had the Flips and the Kodak Zi6. Didnt like the Zi6 as it seemed flimsy compared to the flip. So almost bought a flip, and I am not a great fan of Kodak anyway. But finally found the ZX1, and still liked the build and feel of the flip a little better, but it was I felt really to bulky for a shirt pocket and the ZX1 is not much bigger than my Motorola cell phone, true portability. I also felt the side by side videos on you tube showed a little better color rendering form the Kodak.
The test. Got it home charged the batterys on my Everready NiCd charger and read the instructions, You might as well say what instructions, Kodak really let this fine little camera down in this department. Anyway I decided to test in the worst case scenario for these little cameras, and that is indoor low light levels. What a surprise, not bad at all! No it does not match a fast F stop lens camera for low light shooting, but far exceeded what I expected after reading all the moaning and groaning about it. Face it none of these tiny camcorders are going to be pro-quality at about 0 nor are the going to have image stabilization (hold still like we used to do)they are a great deal with acceptable video. I am very pleased with the ZX1.
Most of all for video’s like houshold inventory, or e-mail video clips it is superb, and rugged poratbility, give it an A+. I am always a firm beliver a small basic camera yhat you have with you when a photo moment presents itself, is better than the finest of large bulky video or photo equipment sitting at home in the closet. Kodak deserves an A+ great job on this camera just fix the instructions.
